The Long Lake Wildfires Remains Uncontrolled.

Professionals in forestry, road construction, and related sectors employ these machines to fabricate dozer guards, clearing trees, brush, and debris to create expansive paths of exposed soil, thereby eliminating combustible material.
The current on-site personnel roster includes 52 DNR firefighters, 62 from Ontario, and 42 local firefighters. We acknowledge and appreciate the invaluable support provided by the PEI firefighters, who have since returned home. The operation's resources include six helicopters, six fixed-wing aircraft, bird dog aircraft, and over 30 heavy equipment operators.
As of 12:30, Saturday, the Long Lake wildfires complex remains uncontained. A revised size estimate is currently unavailable. Fortunately, no residences have been damaged. The same resources are still deployed on the scene, focusing on constructing dozer guards and soaking areas around the fire zone's perimeter. The next update is scheduled for this evening.

LONG LAKE FIRE COMPLEX, ANNAPOLIS COUNTY, AUGUST 23, 6:30 PM: The newly estimated size of the Long Lake wildfires complex is 3,255 hectares based on more precise measurements taken this morning. The fire remains out of control and may experience further growth on Saturday due to fire activity and challenging conditions this afternoon. The same aircraft, firefighters, and heavy machinery continue to operate on the scene. No reports of damage to homes have been received.
